Illuminated Glass Vases

Light is such an important thing to any decoration because it can highlight the décor in a way that it can’t do just on it’s own. You can purchase relatively cheap glass vases that come with special lighting panels at the bottom that illuminate the overall clear glass vase like a globe. You can have multiple changing colors or just one color or no colors if you wish. These can get fairly expensive, especially if you purchase water-proof lights. If you buy some cheap glass vases that are illuminated they will typically look best when used as a centerpiece or smaller object. If you purchase very large illuminated glass vases it will end up looking like you have a weird glowing object in the corner rather than a well crafted design. I’ve seen some people pull this off but there are many variables to take into consideration and this should be done sparingly. That being said, illuminated glass vases can be the highlight of the entire room. When the lights go off you almost can’t take your eyes off of it and it makes for a great conversation piece.

An important thing to keep in mind when buying illuminated vases is to not get too fluorescent. There’s a fine line between stylish and tacky when it comes to these things. Subtle glowing glass vases can look fabulous, super glowing glass vases that hurts your eyes when you look directly at it can be as tacky and cheap as black lights in your house. If you just moved into a dorm room or frat house then glass vases that glow multiple flashing colors might be right up your alley, but if it’s style and class you’re going for try and stray away from the “glow light” appearance. You don’t want your living room to look like a rave!
