Some people just stick with a solid decoration at the bottom of their clear glass vases. Whether it be rocks or acrylic crystal or some other form of decoration, the next step would be to ask yourself if you would like something in the decorations at the bottom. Let’s say for example you bought some cheap glass vases and wanted to place some at the bottom, adding some tiny color beads and mixing them in with the rocks at the bottom can add a quick and easy flavor to the appearance of it. These are relatively inexpensive and can come in whatever color your choose. Don’t overdo it with these little decorations as too many will take away from the decorative rocks at the bottom and it’s not fun picking these things out!
If you prefer to not go for the decorative beads addition, consider adding some artificial plants or other objects. I have seen even paper cutouts that look very classy. I have had partners who uses orange peels, pieces of clothing that were cut up, shredded paper, shredded plastic. You can even add dirt and have it look nice! Experimentation is really the key here and this can get to be a very fun thing to do. You may end up spending house trying different combinations of items in your cheap glass vases and then washing it out and trying again. While several of the ideas you come up with may end up looking tacky, when you find that one unique look then it makes it worth while.
